Team Work

My professor for visual merchandiser is teaching us the importance of working with different personalities . As most people know working with different personalities is apart of life. The professor gave us the task of doing a display, we picked one of the biggest windows in the fashion department.  The group contained six of us, we are all fashion majors but different fields in fashion. So we all brought different talents to improve the window, we definitely had our work cut out for us. The window which is connected to a sewing classroom has a small entrance into it, the first step was cleaning out the window. Windex was one our best friends for this assignment, we had to clean out as many staples as we could for this project. Our professor is all about the little details that can affect the out come than we covered up what was possible with a polka dot back ground as we'll white paper for the sides and the ceiling, the ceiling took at least an hour and half we first tried to glue it but it would 'nt. stay and some other things we tried. We ended up using pins and doing some tucking for the celling, than came the draping of the dress form thankfully one of our the designer students draped the dress for us.We used some props for our display.  Promoting our school's fashion program is the main theme for the window, we figure we set the window up as from the student room who is a fashion major. By time we were done the props were correctly in place, we liked our work. Than came judging day, my professor is always honest, she told us the issues that she found wrong with our display but liked the work we put into it and gave us some ideals how to fix those problems so when we do another window. I learned a lot from this project, that all those pretty windows in stores takes time, planning and that the very small detail is almost the most important part of the display.  Here is a before and after of the window we designed.
